WordPress Availability Calendar plugin bug fixes
Over the past few months there have been numerous emails in my inbox relating to some of the WordPress Plugins that I have added to Plugin Directory.
It seems the majority of people were having issues with the Availability Calendar plugin, so as usual I try to find some time to help guide people through any problems.
After the fifth or so person contacting me about the same problem, it made me carry out some further investigation into the plugin to see if there were any glaring issues.
There was one in particular that stood out and would have affected anyone installing the plugin for the first time.
The database would be created, but the years option overwritten and prevented you from seeing any years in the years dropdown.
It shows that there possibly wasn’t enough testing carried out before releasing it to the community, so thanks to all those who pointed out there was a problem rather than just ignoring it and assuming it will never be fixed.
I had started on a new improved version a few months ago that allows for multiple properties / calendars to be created and managed, as well as introducing a settings page to further customise features.
Unfortunately due to not requiring these features myself and having to focus on other projects this has been moved towards the bottom of my priority list.
Looking at the download statistics it seems as if there are around 50 people using it, which although isn’t exactly a huge amount does make it worthwhile releasing to the community.
