More additions to the Lego Town: Airport Runway
Before leaving work this evening, myself and a few of the other Lego enthusiasts stayed to make some minor additions to the Lego Town.
Something we have been looking to add for a short while now is a runway, so that the small collection of aeroplanes we had gathered could actually have the facility to take off.
This process started the other week by browsing eBay for some airport runway base plates – thin pieces of road with green edging.
Once they had arrived we gave them a bit of a clean and started to piece them together an position all the vehicles and minifigs.
We did have to change the farmyard layout a little in order to provide access to the airport, but the majority of it stayed the same.
It’s still a work in progress but looks quite promising so far, hopefully the idea of having actual runway lighting will ‘take off’.
As we have done with other areas of the town (the railway in particular), it would be nice to add some more accessories to the runway such as flowers to break up the mass of green.
