New Dell product configuration / customisation page design
Whilst browsing the Dell UK website earlier, I took a keen interest in the Studio 17 laptop (with HD touch screen display).
I clicked through to the customisation page to see how much the price would shoot up and found myself looking at a new layout for the configuration page.
The options were split into 3 sections – Adjust Performance, Electronics & Accessories and Upgrade Services & Warranty. I found this useful as in previous version they were all merged into one big step and few people are actually bothered about the second two areas.
After playing around with the options for a while, I refreshed the page to get back to the original price before any modifications, only to find myself looking at a really old page design. So old in fact that it looked like I had been taken back maybe two or three versions.
I did however manage to take a few screen-shots before the new layout was no longer accessible, unfortunately by the time anyone reads this the design may well be up and running.
