The first day back, and it’s been a bit of a challenge so far!

Today is my first day back at work and although it’s only just about time for lunch, it’s been a bit of a struggle when it comes to the first task of the day.

At the end of last year, I wrote a jQuery plugin to display a slideshow of images with captions. As with many of my plugins, it’s still in the early stages but has been included in the my plugins library a.k.a Juice Library.

Unfortunately, a number of the Mac users were reporting a problem when using Safari. The images were appearing but were stretched and distorted, as well as the captions not being fully revealed.

This morning I set about my day solving the problem until eventually a cause and more importantly a solution was found.

It’s irritating because it does feel a little like you’ve wasted your time going backwards and forwards editing code and not really getting anywhere, but now I’ve encountered this problem once I’ll be sure to remember it!
